One market. Every business. All of Kenya.

Sokomoja means one market. Soko, moja. That is the whole idea.

Kenya does not have a shortage of businesses worth buying from. It has a shortage of ways to find them and to pay them safely. A tailor in Nakuru, a boutique in Nairobi, a jeweller in Kisumu and an electronics dealer in Eldoret are all selling well within a few kilometres of where they stand, and reaching nobody beyond it.

Building an online shop is the obvious answer and the wrong one for most of them. A website costs money they would rather put into stock, needs skills they do not have, and starts with no visitors. So the trade moves to WhatsApp and Instagram, where there is no order system, no payment protection, and no record of anything.

Sokomoja is the alternative. One marketplace, shared by thousands of Kenyan businesses. We build and run the technology, verify every seller, handle the payments, coordinate delivery, and bring the buyers. The seller brings the product and their reputation.

For buyers, that means one place to shop, with sellers who have been checked, money that is held until your order arrives, and someone to go to when something goes wrong.

Built for how Kenya actually trades

We are Kenyan-owned and designed around the realities here: M-Pesa, boda riders, pickup points, landmarks instead of street numbers, and business done between people who mostly have not met.

What you can buy

Sokomoja opens with six categories: fashion and apparel, phones and electronics, home and kitchen, beauty and personal care, baby and kids, and arts, crafts and jua kali. More follow as sellers join.

We are at the beginning
